Strength and stiffness is provided by glass reinforced longitudinal and transverse stringers. Hull thickness increases at the turn of the bilge and more at the keel. External keel of cast iron through bolted. Bulkheads are bonded or tabbed to the hull in conjunction with a one-piece overhead fiberglass liner. Deck, cockpit and cabin are constructed utilizing hand lay-up fiberglass in between an end grain balsa core sandwich. The hull to deck joint is an outward flange bonded with toe rail using a caulk adhesive and through-bolts on 3” centers. The flange is glassed over with an outside rubber extrusion employed to protect against collision. The rudder is laid up around a 1 1/2” rudder shaft. The shaft is seated in delrin bearings replaced 2000. Bronze thru-hull fittings are used on all underwater fittings. Comments This is a fine example of this design meticulously maintained and upgraded she will provide a wonderful platform for a small cruising family on a budget. The Pearson 26 has proved to be a steadfast racer as well as a comfortable cruiser, "La Femme Mystique" was totally re-fitted in 2000..
