The Event Chairperson shall select a Race Committee, to be headed by a US
SAILING-recognized PRO, if possible.
The PRO shall, in cooperation with the Event Coordinator and Chief Judge, write and
publish the Notice of Race and Conditions of Race. The Notice of Regatta shall include an
entry form for the event.
The PRO shall, in cooperation with the Event Coordinator and Chief Judge, write the
Sailing instructions, using the US SAILING Championship Sailing Instructions as a guide.
Provide and man a registration desk.
Obtain borrowed boats, if needed. Have them available for practice the day before the
event.
Insure borrowed boats with US SAILING borrowed boat insurance.
Collect entry fees and insurance premiums and damage deposits (if applicable). Send
entry fees to TSA Secretary/Treasurer. Send insurance premiums to insurer. Retain local
fees for the purposes intended.
Offer the contestants liability insurance available from US SAILING.
The Event Chairman will be responsible for monitoring, reporting, and arranging the
repair/replacement of any damage or loss of equipment to/from the borrowed boats. An
inventory shall be made of each borrowed boat prior to the event. He/she shall approve the
return of damage deposits to each competitor after deduction of assigned and unassigned
damages. Unassigned damages are to be pro-rated to all the participating skippers.
Conduct the races.
Immediately after completion of the event, send one copy of the winner's and the
runner-up's entry form to the designated parties on the entry form as well as the host
club conducting the Area F championships with the entry provided by the team
participating. This must be signed by the Chief Judge or the Race Committee Chairperson.
The host club shall absorb the costs of conducting the event. TSA will provide
appropriate trophies.
