NOTICE REGARDING 2024 STANDING AWARDS

The Texas Sailing Association (TSA) Board of Governors and Youth Co-chairs recognize that the impact of Hurricane Beryl has been significant to many of our TSA families. We thank Houston Yacht Club for their prompt updates regarding Texas Youth Race Week (TYRW) throughout the storm and their willingness to quickly reschedule TYRW for our sailors. We recognize that changing dates can cause havoc on families planning for the sailing year. To maintain fairness and ensure that the schedule changes do not significantly impact any sailor working towards a Season Standing or Participation award, we are amending the Texas Youth Racing Circuit Conditions and Regatta Guidelines for 2024 in the following manner:

11.      Season Standings 

11.1.     “The number of events in each season will determine the “Minimum Necessary Regattas” to be utilized for both Participation and Season Standing Awards.  If there are 12 or more events, the “Minimum Necessary Regattas” will be 7.  If there are 10-11 events, the “Minimum Necessary Regattas” will be 6.  Fewer than 10 events will result in 5 “Minimum Necessary Regattas”.” is modified to “The “Minimum Necessary Regattas” to be utilized for both Participation and Season Standing Awards for 2024 is six (6).
