US Sailing Adult Sailing Champs

for the Clifford D. Mallory Trophy

The US Sailing Adult Sailing Championship will be hosted by Bay-Waveland Yacht Club (Bay Saint Louis, MS) on October 27-30, 2022. The regatta will be sailed in Viper 640's. More info and the NOR are at: https://www.ussailing.org/competition/championships/2022-u-s-adult-sailing-championship/

Registration for this event requires qualification or a referral from TSA, the RSA (Regional Sailing Association). Teams interested in competing should contact Larry Wise ( lwisehou [at] gmail [dot] com or 713 - 419 - 4329 ) no later than 1800 CDT September 10, 2022. The RSA referral deadline set by US Sailing is September 12, 2022 (NOR 5.3). Sailing resumes for interested teams will be considered by TSA officers for the RSA referral. The application should include the skipper and each crew's sailing resumes. The selection committee will be made up of the TSA flag officers. The criteria for selection will mirror those of the US Sailing criteria (noted that we do not have a qualifying regatta therefore no points awarded to any applicant for that criteria), so please address these requirements in resumes and/or cover email:

- 40% Sailor Criteria – How many major events have they competed in the past three years; the number of races in these events, number of attendants

- 20% – Qualified through a regatta at the Regional Sailing Association level [Note: Not applicable for TSA for 2022]

- 20% – Class Criteria – size, diversity, depth, and activity of class they consistently sail nationally

- 10% – sailors under 30 make up 25% of the team

- 10% – female sailors make up at least 25% of the team

- Bonus: Additional 10% if a female is a helm

Welcome to the Texas Sailing Association

With more than 40 member clubs, Texas Sailing Association works to promote and coordinate sailboat racing in Texas and across the southwest. As part of the US SAILING Association’s regional structure, TSA combines with Central States Sailing Association and Sailing Association of Intermountain Lakes to form Area F, one of US SAILING’s geographic divisions. Club representatives compete each year in TSA events for the right to continue on to Area and National championships. TSA also provides local access to US Sailing services, such as racing judges and the protest appeal process. Explore our site to learn more about Texas sailing events and programs. We hope to see you on the water soon!
